A Facebook friend of mine asked her crafty friends to make a card for a friend who has MS and has been suffering. I gladly took the challenge! The recipient is a man so that created a challenge in itself. I don't personally know the gentleman, so I don't know any of his interests, so I went with a ferris wheel! Who doesn't like Ferris wheels? (oh...me....I don't!)
So anyway, I used some patterned paper from one of the mat stacks I own (a Christmas one believe it or not). I stamped the light blue piece with Stampin Up's "Sanded" in crumb cake, then the Ferris wheel from "Feeling Sentimental" in Midbight Muse. The sentiment is from "For You" (Stampin' Up) and is also stamped with Midnight Muse. I recently bought a mini ink blending tool, and I thought I would use it on this card to give it a more distressed look. I didn't want to add a lot of bulk to the card because I am sending it to Canada, so I added some piercing in the corners (I originally thought brads would be nice)
Hopefully the card will bring the recipient a smile and I hope he is feeling less pain.

Another Card Sketch
I have been in my craftroom for hours today. Here it is after midnight, and I only managed to complete 1 card! I can't focus today, maybe it's my headache, or the fact that I have Strep Throat. I'm not sure.
Anyway I bought this stamp set from the Heirloom Rubber Stamp show in Allentown this past April. It's by Right At Home stamps and it comes with some really nice sentiments. I was trying to do something else, but it didn't work out the way I wanted. I am going to try again when I feel better.
Okay so back to the card, I stamped the sentiment in versamark then used black embossing powder to heat emboss it. This was layered on a dark teal mat then on a black card. Then I used Copics to color in the image. I used Jennifer Dove's (from "Just4funCrafts.blogspot) color combo called "Pacific Blue" featuring BG02, BG05 and BG09. The background was stamped with Fun Stampers Journey (FSJ) "Scrupt" heat embossed with clear with sparkles enbossing powder. I crumbled up the lighter teal piece and added it on. The bakers twine and flowers as well as the center of the flower (which members of the old Cricut message Board nicknamed "Skittles") were all items I had on hand. The Skittle in the center of the flower is held on using Crystal Effects.
The sketch is from Alwaysplayingwithpaper's Challenge #5 from April 2014.

Decorative Doily cards
I recently received May's Funstampers Journey Bloom box. The Bloom box comes with a full set of stamps and materials to make 4 cards. I have been wanting to get a stamp similar to this, so I was very excited to get it! Unfortunately I didnt have the color ink for the kit, so I used the stamps to make my own versions. I stamped the doilies in versamark then heat embossed them with white opaque embossing powder. I layered some of the cards on only a colored mat then the card, but then I decided to make some with the embossed piece on white then on the color before adding them to the card. In some carss I used twine and others I used satin ribbon. I used sentiments from Stampin' Up's "For You" as well as "Elegant Cheer". The doilies are for a Funstampers Journey set that hasn't been released yet called "Decorative Doily".

One image, Six ways
I went back today and made another image to replace the one that I messed up yesterday. This way I could finish my first 1 image, 6 ways challenge.
I bought this My Favorite Things die yesterday during my trip to the Lancaster area. It's called the Oval Flop card. The thing is, it came with ZERO directions!!! I searhed through Google to get the jist of how to do it, and then created this card. I stamped a mat with en Francois by Stampin Up. I layered that on the INSIDE of the card before I sent the flop die through my BigShot. Then I cut the flowers, "Sweet You" by Funstampers Journey (FSJ) with the oval die that came with the flop die. One other complaint I have about the flop die, besides no directions, is that it should have offered another oval for layering. The scalloped oval die is from another set, and while it is close, it isn't perfect. Then I layered red and white on the other side after I sponged the red layer. I stamped the "Happy Birthday" from Stampin Up's "Occasional Quotes". I like how this turned out!
One image, 6 ways
I wanted to challenge myself to use an image, stamp it out, color it and use them to make different cards. I started out with six of this image a flower from Funstampers Journey's "Sweet You". I colored the flowers with copic markers R05, R24, R46. The leaves were colored with YG17, YG13, YG21. I then also stamped out and colored the larger flower and added it to most of the cards using pop dots.
This is the first card I made. Once I made this one I kind of got stuck in a red/black/white color scheme, but since the challenge was to come up with different layouts I just went with it. I had this piece of red that I had stamped a speckled background on it, but then I didn't use it, and it went back into my stash, so I used that for this card. I cut it down to make the different layers in this card. I cut the image with an oval die and layered that in a scalloped oval. I used a card sketch from cardztv.blogspot to make this one:I stamped the red layer with Stampin Up's "en Francois" then layered it on black and then on a white card. I embossed the triangles in the corners with the "Swiss Dots" embossing folder. I also found this card sketch on Cardztv.blogspot:
I went with a different color scheme with this one. I heat embossed the green banner with Funstampers Journey's "Script". The sentiment came from an old Stampin' Up Paper Pumpkin. This sketch was found on Freshlymadesketches #197
I started out with a red card then added a black layer. I embossed the white layer with a "Musical Flourishes" embossing folder and then layered the images. I used my Bow Easy to make the little double bow. I also added some dimension to the little berries using Nuvo Crystal Drops.
By the time I got to this card it was after 1 AM and I had to be up by 8 AM, so I went with a simple design. Not alot of frills, just simple and to the point. Rhe image was cut wuth a stitched rectangle die, layered in a red rectangle.
The 6th image got messed up when I tried to cut it with a die. So I threw that one away. Tomorrow I will stamp and color another image so I can complete the challenge!

In Memory...A birthday card
My little sister passed away last year. A year to the day after that we got the news I was sitting in my craft room making cards. I wantwd to make a card in her memory, and this is what I came up with. Her favorite color was purple, so of course I made the card purple. I used Lavendar Fusion and Grape Fusion card stock by Funstampers Journey. The tree is from Stampin Up's "Sheltering Tree" and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up's "On Your Birthday".
Designing the card brought some tears but I think it turned out to be a nice tribute.

Ferns and Butterflies
I CASed this card from Deb Mauch. I love how it turned out! I used a Hexagon embossing folder then lightly rubbed some ink over the edges using a finger dauber. I triple stamped the ferns on the main piece. There is a subtle background on the strip with the sentiment on it. Then I finished it off by layering two different butterflies and added some rhinestones.

Stained Glass Flower
I found quite a few rubber stamps that I forgot about when I recently redid my craft room. This stained glass background was one if them. The background is by D.R.S. Designs. The flowers (Just Believe) and the sentiment inside (Balloon Adventures) are by Stampin' Up. The little "Happy Birthday" is by Endless Creations. I colored the vackground with my Copic Markers. I really like hiw these turned out!

Owls Galore
While I was at the crop I also played with my new markers that I purchased while at the Heirloom Arts Rubber Stamp Show in Allentown. I bought them from "Local King Rubber Stamp". I had watched the lady at the booth demonstrate a few years before and thought I could do that with markers I already owned. I tried and it didnt work! So this year when I saw them I knew I needed them! I couldnt wait to try them on this owl, which is an ATS (Artist Trading Stamp) from Funstampers Journey! I had a lot of fun coloring him and I made quite a few cards with the results!
I used the cards without a bow for more masculine cards.
Mojo Monday MOJO496
I have been trying to make more cards. I am shooting for at least one a day. Earlier this week a Facebook friend posted this sketch and I figured I would jump on the challenge! I made another card but I'm not sure I love it. Today in the mail I received my Hero Arts layering Goldfish stamps and dies. I had seen them months ago and have been looking in the stores for them. I try not to pay shipping if I dont have to. Well earlier this week I found both on Amazon so.... I ordered them!!! 😊 I used them to make a card for the sketch. The sentiment is from a Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called "Happy Ocean Friends".
I just LOVE these goldfish!!!!

Birthday Bib Card
When I was at the Heirloom Arts Rubber Stamp show I picked up some new dies. I have been admiring these types of cards for years, but I don't really like to buy precut cards. I prefer to cut my own, that way I can choose the colors. So when I saw these dies I just had to have them! I picked them up from Endless Creations. I also bought this candle border from Endless Creations. I CASed a card from the owner of Endless Creations, Beth. I colored the candles and added some crystal effects to some of the candles, and some sparkles to others using my Gelly Roll pens. I used a Birthday embossing folder on the background. I will definitley be using this die a lot!

Easter Cards
I went to a crop in April with my good friend Terri. While most of the ladies were working on scrapbook layouts, I worked on Easter cards for my family. I had recently bought some new stamps and dies and I wanted to play with them abd this was the perfect opportunity!
