Rainbow Card #3

Okay I promise this is the last of the rainbow cards, at least for now! This time I made them into Birthday cards.
I added some crystal effects to the word "Bright" just for some interest.

Here are some additional color combinations I made. Like I said these are a lot of fun to make! And it is fun to mix up the color orders and combinations as well as use the dies at different angles.

Kid Notes - Rawr!!

When I was growing up, my mom often times would tuck a little note or card inside of my bag whenever I go away whether spending the weekend at Girl Scout camp or going to a friend's house or whatever. Now that I have children, I continued with that  tradition. I tuck a little note into their backpacks for the first day of school. I tuck notes into their notes into their bags when they're going to the grandparents house for a few days.  I pack notes in the their luggage when they go camping with Scouts. We don't actually pack lunches for school anymore, but on the occasion that we did in the past I would tuck notes in there as well.

Sometimes in the hustle and bustle of everyday life we don't think of these little notes.  So I thought I would share that tradition. I decided to make some kids card sets. Something little that you could just let your little ones know that you're thinking of them, that you're proud of them, or you think they're awesome. So the adorable Critters by Lawn Fawn are perfect for this.

Below is my first version of my Rawr card. While I liked the basics of it, I felt it was missing something.

So off I went to look for something to jazz it up a little bit. On the card below I added a stitched square as well as a stitched circle to the card front. I also decided to add more to the scene behind the dino, so I stuck a palm tree in there. Not a lot of differences, but I like this version so much better!

I am going to be making sets of these note cards for sale at any of my events in 2018, or they can be special ordered! Stay tuned for more cards which will be in the sets!st

Another Card Sketch

I have been in my craftroom for hours today. Here it is after midnight, and I only managed to complete 1 card! I can't focus today, maybe it's my headache, or the fact that I have Strep Throat. I'm not sure.
Anyway I bought this stamp set from the Heirloom Rubber Stamp show in Allentown this past April. It's by Right At Home stamps and it comes with some really nice sentiments. I was trying to do something else, but it didn't work out the way I wanted. I am going to try again when I feel better.
Okay so back to the card, I stamped the sentiment in versamark then used black embossing powder to heat emboss it. This was layered on a dark teal mat then on a black card. Then I used Copics to color in the image.  I used Jennifer Dove's (from "Just4funCrafts.blogspot) color combo called "Pacific Blue" featuring BG02, BG05 and BG09. The background was stamped with Fun Stampers Journey  (FSJ) "Scrupt" heat embossed with clear with sparkles enbossing powder. I crumbled up the lighter teal piece and added it on. The bakers twine and flowers as well as the center of the flower (which members of the old Cricut message Board nicknamed "Skittles") were all items I had on hand. The Skittle in the center of the flower is held on using Crystal Effects.
The sketch is from Alwaysplayingwithpaper's Challenge #5 from April 2014.
